I like the idea of RJ being a relief pitcher - I just don't think he has what it takes to be a starter, which he proved several times this year, IMO.

How many more years do you think Joe Torre will be around? Playing for top teams like the YANKEES, RS, etc. boosts the ego of any player - Joe handles this well and his players know who is in charge.

Pavano is a worse example. As for Johnson I believe he has a lot of pride in his ability to pitch and win games. He is a competitor.
