Bio, Nidan, great flight illustrations..... because once you've lifted off into 3 dimensional space, you can't stop, park and get out. Over a thirty year military flying career I managed to have the exact number of landings as I did take offs.

You use the excellent example of "Sully" Sullivan, the greatest glider pilot in modern aviation. You use the same due diligence in investing as you do in aviation, that is you plan your course of action and prepare for the the most dangerous aspect of your flight. You assess risk and see if the mission warrants taking off or investing. You go over your emergency procedures realizing that there is the possibility of having to use them every time you leave the ground. And in the case of military aviation you accept increased risk based on the importance of completing the mission.

My assessment of small biotech investing is that it is extremely risky. However, the success of this mission with 2-73, 3-71 and the rest of the ANAVEX pipeline I believe will result in great rewards in terms of reducing human suffering in both the young and old. Every mission has risks but I side with the Edisons and the Flemings of this world.....I've taken off with AVXL and expect to land safely at home base in 2018.
