It's just hard to believe there are unaccounted for shorts -- certainly is impossible for me to believe there are (still) tens or hundreds of millions of naked short sales -- if there ever were.

I'd guess the lion's share covered.

MM were selling millions of shares at 14 cents per share. MM were expecting to cover with next dilution,financing. No dilution financing so no shares available yet to cover with. Meanwhile share price is drifting higher. Longs are hoping for good news for a short squeeze. IMO
