Just my 2 cents: be careful anticipating certain news to drive stock price in a certain direction.

In my experience, the news is driven by the life cycle of the stock. Or, maybe better stated, the "interpretation" of news is driven by the mood and emotions of the herd trading that stock, which then tramples price in some direction. So news often catalyzes movements like a gun shot near a herd, but the direction the herd actually runs is made to suit the current psychology. The articulated reason for a price move spurred by news is just a story made up after the price moves, so it's useless.

I am always surprised when news moves a stock immediately in an anticipated direction. More likely, the news is either opposite the expected story, and the stock head fakes before moving in the anticipated direction anyway, or the news is as anticipated and the stock head fakes counter-intuitively before proceeding with its long term move. Or... any number of plot twists happen, making it very hard to make money trading news.
