It's folks misunderstanding the FINRA daily "short" figures. These are most of the trades on the OTC. They indicate the MM sold share to retail first, then bought back at a lower price to cover. The first "short" gets reported, but the instant cover does not. All toxic conversions also so as short since the toxic lender sells his shares to retail first, then covers from the company locking in a huge profit on the trade. Again, not true shorts.
