Yes, there are three ways to make money on AVXL.

1) Buy and hold through all the noise. Hope for the best when trials are over. Biggest risk to lose everything but also biggest possibility to make a life changing amount of money.

2) Trade the dips: not nearly as lucrative, but much less risky. Can either trade the stock directly or through options.

3) Short the stock: Also not nearly as risky, when the charts show it's at points of resistance, unless you are unlucky enough to get stuck in a position when news breaks.

I make money through the second path. The only stocks I buy and hold are the ones that are almost a zero chance of going down over the long term, the blue chips. Maybe one day AVXL will fall into that category.
