MDGL/VKTX -

Whalatane, Biotech Jim, and the board in general, would love to hear your thoughts on this tweet

That is based on animal data for the VKTX drug, right? Assuming so, how can you extrapolate animal data to what the Phase 2 data will show?

MDGL / VKTX. ..Titan ...anything that raises Liver enzymes is a non starter as far as I'm concerned ...for the Hetero FH population ....we are already concerned about possible liver damage from the high intensity statins we are on.
From Science Direct ...quick copy ...did not read entire article
Treatment with low-moderate intensity statins is safe. By contrast, high intensity statin treatment may induce liver toxicity.

MGL3196 improves Liver enzymes ...as well as lowering surrogate CV risk markers .

I sold half my MDGL position after it was up 100% ......trading rule I have and try to stick with .
I'm hoping they will raise funds and the stock sells off before the Hetero FH data late Jan 2018 ...so I can add to what remains.

I'm not trying to "pump " this stock . I would like to read opposing views and debate the merits .
Dew had mentioned Enanta for NASH ...ok but I see no benefit in their drug for Hetero FH ...no dose related changes in Lipids

With MDGL you get improvement in Liver AND improvement in CV Lipids ....can anyone name another drug in development that does that ?
If so please cite
thx

Titan. I read a P1 trial for VK2809 ...56 patients with mild hyper cholesterol.
Of these 56 ...10 of them developed asymptomatic elevations of Liver enzymes ...mostly elevated ALT at the higher doses .
Elevated ALT levels indicate that the Liver cells are inflamed and damaged with the risk over time ,of losing function .
IMHO its very unlikely this drug will ever be used by Hetero Familia Hypercholestremia patients as most of us are on high intensity statins and vulnerable to elevated ALT levels already.

This is not a comment on VKTX's potential for treating NASH .
I'm not an MD so those on this board who are , might have a different view.

MGL-3196 is the best drug I've seen in development so far for Hetero FH patients ....when possibly used with Statins ,and Zetia as an alternative to PCSK9's ( which are generally limited to only the very high risk patients )
