Coal at Christmas is what Mr. Bigger is suggesting if you read his remarks in context:
Mr. Bigger was responding to several people but one of those guys, a Justin Keister talked in terms of complexity and how long things take:
"I’d speculate they might wait all the way until next ASCO. Keep quiet, minimize expenses, settle lawsuits. Then boom...positive data. Big pharma will want to get real cozy then"
Mr. Keister blamed the long delay on the amount of time it takes to accomplish three things:
"Data analysis, publication and peer review just takes forever. There’s only so many doctors, coffee, and Red Bull in the world."
Mr. Bigger noted the significance of his long-term commitment by saying that he could not sell until three things took place:
"$12 million of commitment with no ability to sell until x,y,z happens Think about that ...."
The takeaway:
On one hand it is positive that Mr. Bigger is expressing a long-term commitment to NWBO and making a point of saying his money is tied up until after data analysis, publication and peer review take place.
On the other hand, it is rather negative for those of us hoping for an improvement by Christmas that Mr. Bigger he did not dispute Mr. Keister's idea that we would be waiting a long time and probably until ASCO 2018 for the trial data to be reported.
