Yeah, but 3000 + miles is a long way to go to watch people drink coffee, read the newspaper and cruise the internet (especially IHUB) all day. Besides, information of that sort ought to be provided willingly by the company IF anyone is bothering to keep track.
Yes, I know all the proprietary secrets and the like does not permit such data but what is wrong with categories like, Setting Up the Machines = 4 hours, Doing research = 15 minutes, Lunch Break = 3 hours, and (my favorite) Thinking time = 1 -2 minutes.
In any event you get my point. When I was in the service if it were not for the sergeants keeping me on my toes I'd get very little done all day. The "officers" sure as heck were not about to get their hands dirty with such menial chores. As a matter of fact I'd bet any one of us could set up a performance reporting system in a day or two IF the employees even know what is expected of them ....
Then again, I'm probably full of s --t !
