I can see a brokerage frowning on a ridiculos GTC order outstanding for over a year....OK so I make a GTC order for AAPL for 10 cents a share....the broker sees this sitting there forever and thinks....lets toss this wanker taking up valuable resources. Logical?

Thanks for your reply, I have enough cash to buy limited amount, never exceed my available cash. However, there is no such 6 months limitation. I had a GTC buy order, it was cancelled by TD for running weeks.
