While Tesla has impressive vehicles, it certainly is not 3 years ahead of the competition.

Nissan, GM, and other manufacturers have more "proven" production capacity for EVs. Tesla will be limited by it's single factory for the near future. Tesla is planning additional factories, but that will take a couple of years.

Ford and other manufacturers are ahead in autonomy, as detailed by Navigant Research reports.

Tesla didnt even make the top 10 of the list:

1. Ford
2. GM
3. Renault-Nissan Alliance
4. Daimler
5. Volkswagen Group
6. BMW
7. Waymo
7. Volvo/Autoliv/Zenuity
9. Delphi
10. Hyundai Motor Group

Uber just signed a 24k order for autonomous Volvos:

Additionally, attempting to paint Tesla as being in a great financial situation is ignoring the reality of highly leveraged debt, and an incredible cash burn.

Hopefully, this will be a temporary situation, but Tesla will need to
ramp up the Model 3 quickly. Even with an improved ramp, Tesla will almost certainly need future capital raises to expand capacity, and bring new products to market.

I am not a Tesla hater, I think Musk is a very talented person.
Tesla's strength will eventually be in its diversity, solar, storage, EVs, tunneling, consumer devices, etc.

... but accurate information is what investments should be based on.

"Tesla has the best products, largest production capacity for EVs, at least 3 years ahead of everybody else, and over $3B liquid. $500"
