Personally, for me, I don't call the company because they cannot tell you anything new. They can tell you they are continuing, feel strongly, are confident, etc. And to some, that may be reassuring. But they really can't say much more than that, unless they make a material announcement that they are changing course. I haven't seen anything particularly revealing in any of these reported calls anyway.
All of my own decisions are based upon review of the science, various trial arms, lectures by related scientists, other journals and articles related to confirming research by others, company presentations, lectures and scientific papers by the related scientists.
Everything else is fun, or nice to have but meaningless. Chatter on boards... great for finding things as discussed above, including court case info, patent related details, FDA related details, SEC related details, etc. But beyond that, we're all in the same boat.
