The silver, other heavy metals and UV light will kill some microorganixms, but not all. They also act like antibiotics and induce resistance not only to themselves but also to other antibiotics, UV and metals. All of these substances select something called "resistance transfer factors" that confer resistance to being killed on many organisms. The FDA, or EPA or some birdbrain in our government should be concerned, but I suspect that it's not important to their jobs and security, so these resistance problems will not be addressed until years from any introduction of silver, iodine, mercury and other metals to diminish bugs in the environment. So the issue is, how gullible will Army commanders, paint manufacturers, daycare center operators be and how much will they pay for the scam.
