Untrue! A MM has to show the size of actual retail orders ( finra requirement), but they do not need to show size when they are buying or selling for themselves. It is call not showing one's hand. When a MM is shorting or covering they simply show 10,000 share size. Therefore when you see bid and/or ask of 10,000 share size for stock below .10 it is MM usually buying and/or selling shares and if the stock trades over .10 the minimum size they show is 5,000 shares. Those are the facts.

So you definitely can gauge from level 2 the level of buying and/or selling by MM and since there has been very minimal transactions going off with either 10,000 share size on bid and/or ask one can conclude there is virtually no shorting going on with VLDI and the majority of the trades are retail.

This is a common understanding undisputed by most investors in penny stocks!!!!!
