I haven't looked closely at this. But where are you getting the "6 patients they purposely omitted"? That just seems out of left field. What evidence do you have for that?


It is a 32 patient study (evidence on clinicaltrials.gov or AVXL website). They reported data on 26 patients.

Presumably the other 6 patients were drop outs. However, it would be expected that the drop outs would be the worst performing of the group and exclusion of their data would artificially improve the group data. This has been a concern for skeptics all along with the reported data and now we seem to have some confirmation.

There are legit ways to include drop out's data but just ignoring them is not one of them. In fairness, some may have dropped too early to have reasonably calculated slopes...but not ALL of them as we know there were some late drop outs.
