We're still who we were. What's changed is the nature of the immigrants and our immigration needs.
We had a vast land and needed productive immigrants to populate and develop it. America provided immigrants with two basic things. Freedom and opportunity.
Back in the day, immigrants were grateful for what was offered them and eager to become part of America. All that's changed.
Mainly because of Democrats wanting to import Democrat voters and lily livered Republicans.
Today our immigration seems to be geared to meet the needs of immigrants. IMO, America no longer needs immigrants.
We would be a healthier Country if business became more involved in ensuring our education system educated our youth to meet the needs of business.
