Ok, imagine this. He wants to cause massive loss of life and slip away to live on the run, just like dear old papa.

And the problem with the jet fuel tanks was that they were just too far away. It was reported tonight that he did shoot at them, before he opened fire on the crowd, but not successfully. According to the reports, he dinged one, but the shot didn't penetrate. Just to be sure, they drained the tank.

People would have sprinted non-stop in their underwear out of the hotel. Security wouldn't be able to contain them. The shooter slips out in the chaos.

They could have shot him. They knew what was happening.

But it is easier to create a scenario after the fact for observers.
Which is usually left for the forensic experts with all access to the scene and materials to sort out.

It's interesting to watch the speculation evolve when the horrific event is so up in the air. There are people still who swear there was multiple shooters, yet the audio experts will prove those as echos and stress at the time.
