Unfortunately you are correct. They did not buy the ticker. Just the assets of the company via BK. This is, indeed, an empty shell.

It makes sense because why would the shareholders of GBI want to share the wealth with the shareholders of SOUPQ when GBI did all the work and put up all the money.
