Yup, quarterlies can be like that. You think youve caught the low far enough out to ride the upward momentum then the sp plunges past the dividend amount making your lows look like highs and your stuck and even the dividend doesnt make up the difference.

Sometimes you need that lesson to retool your strategy, been there done that!

Thats why I really like Monthlies, very little lag time between dividends. Buy on the divy announcement, sell the x date. Usually works out to about 10 day cycle, rinse and repeat unless youve gone long and then you continue to accumulate. Either way your making money with your money.
