ApoE4 and Anavex

Does A2-73 as part of cellular homeostatis [sic] reduces ApoE in brain?

Evidence shows that the presence of a unique ApoE4 protein prompts the accumulation of a neurotoxic waste protein, the classic tau tangles.

I read the article, could not discover how the Anavex 2-73 sigma-1 receptor agonist could have any direct affect on the concentration of the pathogenic variant of this protein.

Nonetheless, the fact remains that for most forms of Alzheimer’s, apparently including those cases involving ApoE4 protein anomalies, Alzheimer’s does not set in until the later decades of life. Therefore, the production of the variant ApoE4 protein results from geriatric neuron dysfunction. Anavex 2-73 may well be able to restore normalized, youthful neuron homeostasis, where organelles are properly re-connected and synthesize enzymes and clear wastes normally.

If there will be genomic analyses of the Alzheimer’s patients in the up-coming Phase 3 Anavex 2-73 trial, the drug’s effects on those with aberrant ApoE4 proteins will be discovered.
