K-

To compare two study due to "similar" durations is more than bold ... but let's accept your approach for a second.

" Trials are rarely successful " -> not too many, only a few were successful ... among this few:
a.) CANTOS: demonstrated that inflammation leads to new coronary events
b.) JELIS: with EPA and was followed up until November, 2004, because both interim analyses did not reach the stopping boundary.

Do you aware of any study that continue unstopped for 6 yrs and was about inflammation or used EPA? ... and was unsuccessful.

Maybe a study
- continue unstopped for 6 yrs
- with EPA
- manage inflammation
- followed up until completion, because both interim analyses did not reach the stopping boundary
could be successful ... Do you aware of any study like this ...? What is the odd of this study ...?

Best,
G
