As a devoted, lifelong Apple user (don't have an iPhone however, nor do I want one) I was pretty amused / dismayed at the presentation yesterday. It was a big so what. The superlatives Cook & Co. we're throwing around—with all their "this is really beautiful, this is unbelievable, it's gonna be great" hype—reminded me of you know who. Not much substance there.
I came away feeling that they'd created a very high end toy for conspicuous consumption. Who cares that you can have an animal emjoi represent you? Then they did a schtick with an Alien representing Cook. Idiotic.
Clearly…a lot of the new bells and whistles they're building into the phone are aimed at the Gamers…which has got to be a huge market.
And yes …..they passed over saying what that glass back really is….which seems a waste. Wouldn't the purchaser of your product like to know that if you dropped your phone it wouldn't break and perhaps even bounce?
Now that's cool. And worth a mention.
