So if this were a craps table the Escrow is set black with point marker on 8 and the WMIH shares are a play on Hard-8? The Escrow plays through each toss/roll and the WMIH on hard-8 changes each toss. The escrow is a long play only those on the open white-face up toss could get in years ago, it's now set and the only way in on 8 is to play the Hard-8 each toss, or an easy-8 one time bet (short) like WMIH each day on the exchange.
