If a number of participants are showing obvious signs (observable and otherwise) of a symptomatic curative nature, it is expected and morally just to unmask those responders to confirm Active Drug not placebo.
How would they know when to unmask? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of masking in the first place?
Good point. My guess is the new "Precise science" methods have improved controls with new flexible capabilities. At least that would be my hope so that some of the FDA controls get modified based on the "CURES" act. I have felt for some time that if the FDA were a city fire department they would be getting awards for saving the most chimneys and foundations. But that is just me.
