Some ideas to look into:
Check by phone with your ISP provider -- they can check if there's an issue with your line-in ...

Check that your Modem/Router is powered up and connected.

Go to Control Panel > Network&Sharing Center and click Change adapter settings ...
Make sure that the correct type (LAN, Wireless, etc.) is enabled if there are several listed.
Sometimes just toggling your connection off then on will fix issues.

Could also try going back to an earlier System Restore point available, back before the issue started...
