for this hurricane there should have been ah plan for escape
re;
Houston needs to be evacuated on Monday
before dark as much as feasible...
Forcasters are not looking
at the tidal flow from
Tropical Storm Harvey as
the threat it can be...
As Harvey emerges back
into the gulf the wind
force will start pushing
tidal flow back toward
Galveston, Houston, and
into Louisiana coastline...
That tidal flow will NOT
allow draining of current
flood waters from Houston
as fast as needed...
Flood levee system around
Houston is already pushed
past design...
It may only take 6 or
more inches on any given
levee part to trigger
a failure...
And any failure could
trigger quick, unexpected
water rise of 6 feet or
more downstream fast...
And any single failure
could stress other levee
areas downstream into a
failure, and so on...
Design isn't the problem
for the drainage system...
A massive amount of water
that cannot be moved quick
enough is the problem...
Dicey is a minimal word
to consider the scenario
now as it has unfolded
and how much more stress
could be handled by the
water control system around
the Houston area...
Harvey is a cat 6 mudslinger
which may soon pull another
revolver from the holster...LJ
