He lost because he broke the law. If you know another name for a person who breaks the law I would love to hear it. But Criminal is the word for that. Dan is a criminal convicted of a civil crime.

Mug after thinking on this I agree that what Dan did is not a crime. Civil penelty is for someone who is responsible for a bad thing happening. And criminal is for someone who makes a bad thing happen. Dan isn't guilty of a crime. Just bad decisions.
