The Australians funded the n=32 trial.

How do you back up this statement?

In all of FY 2016 aussies gave $0.57M as part of their incentive program (2.7 weeks Missling https://fintel.io/doc/www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1314052/000161577416008914/s104917_10k.htm

We received a grant in the amount of $0.57 million as part of a research and development incentive program offered by the Australian government,

Don't see that they got any in FY 2015 https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1314052/000161577415003756/s102397_10k.htm or in FY2014 https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1314052/000106299314007294/form10k.htm

Was there something earlier than this?

I believe that much of the trial cost is included with routine care under Australia's Universal Healthcare, so it doesn't cost them a lot extra to run the trial.

Who knows, they may even save money if those patients turn out to need less care!

The Australians funded the N=32 trial. They also requested an additional 104 weeks extension trial on behalf of the patients and care givers.

"In March 2016, we received approval from the Ethics Committee in Australia to extend the ongoing Phase 2a clinical trial, which had been requested by patients and their caregivers.

Notice a difference in the two statements?

Would it not be reasonable, assuming results still appear promising, that they would find the money for a 300 patients trial that could just result in improved care and commensurate future savings, not to mention the ethical bonuses?

I seem to remember finding a list of exactly how the money was being allocated. From my memory, much of it went to things like training for caregivers etc. Maybe someone actually long or short this company wants to see if they can locate the link and provide it?
