It makes no sense to me that Apple would fund a newbie, even though it is Corning, to produce amorphous metal (alloy) when they had an association with Prof. Li, an expert and industrialist researching and producing BMG currently.

I don't remember Corning playing in this field at all. Still, LiquidMetal has the formulations, production technologies, and cross licensing with Eontec.

Finally, Apple has partnered with LiquidMetal in forming Crucible. It wouldn't make sense that they would start over with Corning.
