Yes, it is protected for mono use as well as the combo.

Seems pretty clear to me that no one here has a learned opinion on this. Getting a patent on a combo by no means ensures that the mono use compound will gain protection...its a tough sell and a tough thing to defend. A lot will likely depend on exactly what's protected in the patent and how defensible that is to a generic company's challenge. We don't know the language/protection of the patent so I expect anyone with a definitive answer is probably premature.

All IMO and based on past case examples not expertise in IP law.
