What gets lost in all the ramble here is while GE after assuming the the Alstom/Mantra decided not to continuing developing Mantra's tech at this time, Alstom an equal to GE, if not brought out would have.
While many here mock the technology, Dr. Michal Bialkowski, the former Chemical Processes Group Head of Future Technology Department/Open Innovation of Alstom, and who now serves as Technology Portfolio Manager of GE, validated the technology and has urge his new company (GE) to take it to the pilot plant stage.
Like Windows and IBM, just because the corporate heads can not be persuaded to see the market potential it doesn't mean that the technology has none.
