Tough question to answer..
Here is the thing. Some sites that will support BCC (Bit coin cash) will give you a number of coins of BCC for the number of coins of BTC you have in your account at the time of the fork. Since Coinbase will not support BCC they will not match your Bitcoin. That being said millions of dollars of BCC will be distributed free and will surely cause chaos in the short term. If BCC becomes the dominant coin I believe Bitcoin will suffer short term unless they announce a new and improved project.

1august.org is a good site to check out information about the fork and how to protect your BTC. They recommend two wallets that you can transfer your coin to. This way you can control your keys and get the equivalent amount of bitcoin cash when the fork happens. You just have to withdraw your coin from coinbase by 7/31
