KIWI...THe point about conflict is that it provides a motive for "slanting" or altering the data...It is the fox guarding the hen house. Are you aware that Crestor was involved in three earlier clinical trials and failed to show benefits for primary prevention..This would not be the first time a leading academic was charged with fraud...Think it doesn't happen..read this
