Monsanto and Bayer want in. They have been pretty open about that and represent a pretty large lobby body. Its a slippery slope to have these types of companies use their clout.

You are right though, once they break those federal hurdles, there could be a number of buyouts around the board as those companies would just want to accumulate market share and name-brands
