You're correct, of course, that neither company can compel customers to place orders with it, and I'm not aware of any agreements giving VPC exclusive rights to this product. however,I remember reading a post on this board quite a while ago that gave me the impression that LQMT chose not to pursue the development of small gears, which seemed to be an obvious application given the size limitations of the Engel machine, while VPC was trying to develop this business.
