Thanks for that plain-English explanation. It makes things much clearer with regard to the "poison pill" term that keeps getting thrown around, and I think many needed that to explain what it actually means. That would include me.
So are we to assume that TFN was the target of a takeover bid, and the real "special" dividend of the preferred shgares was that if say News Corp bought us out, we would end up with a share of Newscorp for every say 10,000 shares of preferred that we own - which would equate to 1 share for every COMMON we own? News Corp is trading at about $20/share right now, BTW. That would be a completely different way of going than I have seen anyone talk about, and I would be eating my own words from months ago when I said I was afraid that would happen & we would all end up screwed!
