Why should people who make their living off of others via stocks pay less than half of what productive people pay on their profits than say, a manufacturer?

They shouldn't..it's one area of the tax code that needs to be addressed. My opinion of how taxes should be paid will never see the light of day. Unfortunately, what's most likely to happen is the party in power will manipulate the tax code adding layers of complexity while trying to satisfy their base. More then likely, no one will see satisfaction.
