I am reminded of the old saying by John Maynard Keynes "the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent".

AVXL is not likely to be moved one way or another by retail investors choosing to hit the ask or the bid.

Case in point, today I had a bid in at $5.62. The current bid and ask were 3 or 4 cents higher. There was a sudden drop in the price for about 5 seconds and I got filled. There were 2557 shares traded in that 5 second window then the bid and ask went back to what they had been.

Did I control or move the price? Not really.
