That is exactly the point. There is both speculation and factual information involved on both sides of the Pebble Mine argument. However, many are only interested in speculation and factual information that benefit one side of the argument, summarily dismissing any and all speculation and factual information presented on the other. That is a recipe for disaster in the investing world.
