"Just one person who began to read music again and play the piano,...

Just one out of the hundreds of thousands that have used Donepezil?"

Don't shoot the messenger, you asked the question not me.

Has Donepezil restored anyone's quality of life?

A clear a priori MOA makes experimental findings more believable. I'm sure we'll disagree on the strength of the experimental findings to date but the anecdotes are just not that convincing.

I see F1ash gave you an example of playing piano again. Here's an example of golfing again (among a long list of improvements):

But he also lost interest in golf and since taking Aricept he's been playing again. I can't bear to think what David would be like now, two years on, without Aricept.

David says: I feel 100 per cent compared to the way I was before. I'd get lost going out and I felt frightened all the time.

I thought they were going to put me in a home. Everything made me angry - the TV, people on the street - if anyone got in my way I'd have knocked them out.

Losing my driving licence was terrible. It made me feel as if I was no good any more.

My memory's pretty good now too - in fact it's better than Trish's - I have to leave notes around the house to remind her to do things.

Did you notice "two years on"???? This story and another can be found at: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-439069/Two-couples-reveal-Aricept-gave-lives-back.html

Here are anecdotes for a ginko biloba supplement (aka placebo):

Notice one of those stories is playing piano again:

Merilee, M. (Regarding her 89 year old mother) Provo
“Mom (diagnosed with dementia) is much more alert and willing to do things. She is even playing the piano again, she hasn’t done that in more than 7 months. And she’s remembering things now that I had forgotten.”
