...the osborning part is telling everyone that they would be selling at a lower price to existing K8s....
not really...it is not that kind of market...those kinds of price differences cannot count as much as they do in the consumer market.

They would not have osborned existing P4 sales to the extent they have as noone would have know what price to expect and certainly not cheaper to current and they still would have sold all the Core 2s they made without handing over excessive margins to resellers.

Maybe, but it sure put a permanent lid on AMD's pricing, and thus profits/revenues. That should hold the fort until Intel really gets going with Core 2 Duo marketing and manufacturing, which will be very soon.
