FYI: Metal machining, CNCing, mold making, die casting, steel manufacturing, etc. --all happens in the midwest. There are thousands of these firms spread across Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota, and in particular; Illinois.

Being from Chicago, it is amazing to me that anybody would even consider operating a metallurgy related company anywhere else--in particularly astonishing doing so in a tony suburb of Los Angeles that is very particular about noise, air pollution, and industrial vehicle traffic.

We have discussed this many times in the past but apparently everyone on this board is OK that LQMT operates it's expensive Center of Excellence in an area meant for managers who work in cubicles and operate telephones; passing time talking around the water cooler. Where birds sing and the sun shines forever. And an idling semi with a load to deliver sitting longer than five minutes receives a call to the police from a concerned neighbor. Where there are are all kinds of restrictions about fumes, noise, and air quality that are monitored by citizen groups because those things somehow all lead to cancer in one way or another.

Why anyone would be a manufacturer of anything in California is way beyond me.
