Thanks for the article. Fascinating!

Scanned similar reports in the past, but figured it was a long ways off.

However, the science behind the endeavor may be turning the corner faster than expected.

And it looks like it could lead to an extensive branching of further computing and storage possibilities.

While my uninformed impression is that a Microsoft-APDN tie-up along these lines is unlikely, if it were to occur it would certainly boost the pps.

Looks like Twist is providing "synthetic dna", which may be more suitable for the framework/mechanics of how the information is stored? Again, however, a completely uninformed impression.

Maybe a good question for mgt to field.

I am still around. First why would msft, a software company, go into experimental storage? That should be the first sign this is dubious tech. But... sure lets look at. DNA is a protein which means deposition and retreival require being in a solution. So take a syringe of deionized water and squirt it into your laptop. DNA storage will never be viable commercially because of what you would learn if you actually tried the above. Next, DNA can survive temperature but ut cant survive... sunlight. Nor any UV light. You should already know this as it is why people get skin cancer. Second, and more importantly why would he need to use molecules at all when we currently use light? Why would we replace optical storage? It is cheap lasts a very long time and it is easy to increase capacity by... buying a new disc? And, at this point if you havent realized apdn is just selling shares, sure apdn is probably going into dna storage... thatll sell a lot more shares
