The thing is when you got a big bat being a catcher he is gonna get 150 or so less pa over the course of the year because of it, not to mention the risk on injury, and wearing down over the course of the season in my opinion. And that is the biggest thing of why I would move posey for example to 1b full time and trade belt if he can't play and of spot (using posey as an example of a great hitting catcher). It is imperative that I keep a big bat like that healthy and ready to go. this has nothing to with how well they catch that is irrelevant and has everything to do with I want 150 plate appearences over the course of the season, that could equate to 25-30 more rbis over the course of the season, if the guy is a big time hitter, I rather have those 25-30 rbis in my opinion, then say he is my starting catcher.
