Intel's current Xeon processors are monolithic dies, and the Skylake-SP chips will also be monolithic dies. In recent product generations, Intel has offered its Xeon processors in 3 configurations: LCC (low core count), MCC (mid core count), and HCC (high core count).

The LCC dies are what Intel has generally used for its HEDT product line.

Humm, That sounds like a nice market segmentation strategy. I wonder what happened in the last ~ 18 days, since you posted the above on 5/22/17??
