Jugs:

Upon looking at the articles again, I may have been mistaken......I am starting to think that, perhaps, I don't fully understand the interplay between ALDW, Alon USA Partners, Alon USA Energy and the (I think) Israeli parent company.....

I apologize if I confused the different entities.

If I did, then how does the Delek acquisition affect ALDW, if at all?

Thanks for the links. I read through all of them.

It appears that things are as I'd expected...you see, references to Alon Energy USA are often confused with Alon Energy Partners. However, they operate without a vital connection save for the fact that Alon Energy USA is the controlling General Partner. ALDW operates as a fully stand-alone entity.

The valuation metrics to which you refer have nothing to do directly with ALDW. With a cost basis in ALDW of $8.68, a $12-$13 valuation wouldn't seem altogether terrible. But I'm expecting to come out better than that, believe me.

Look at the link at the top of the groups you've listed and you'll find discussion centering about Delek and Alon Energy USA (ALJ) and nowhere is AL:DW mentioned other than for its being majority controlled by the soon-to-be General Partner controlling interest. And no General Partner can legally dip into the pockets of assets while ignoring the interests of fellow investors---and you and I are among that group.

I'm so glad this came up. I put up more than one post mixing up the two Alon entities. In fact, when ALJ came out with the announced 18 cent distribution, I posted it was ALDW when, in fact, I was corrected with the announced 387 cents.

That was one sweet mistake to have made!

Thanks again for being involved here. I'm sure this discussion has cleared up a number of confusing things due to the ALDW/ALJ similarity in name if not ticker symbol.
