Yes and also there are many shares "short" here. We are "Longs" hoping the price goes up but those that short a stock are betting the pps will go down and that is how they make money. If the pps keeps heading up they are losing and eventually are "forced" into buying to cover their short position. Often times that is referred to as a "Short squeeze" and a price of a ticker can make a large spike up as people are forced to buy at whatever the price is to cover their short position.
