I for one am excited (after being here for 10+ years now) and I think it's ok to be speculatively optimistic at this point. I think what we are about to witness in a few days is substantive optimism (world class management buying in with career capital) based on what is actually happening in the lab. I for one am very excited about that and don't believe this would have happened at all if we hadn't 'done the goo' already in a very, very significant way in the lab. I guess what I am saying is I believe we have already crossed that line and it's a matter of time (and maybe not long at all) before the company reveals next technical milestone hurdled successfully. The talk of doing the goo may have missed the point that they have already done it! I think the market has undervalued (significantly) what was announced with the 10 Gbps modulator. This was huge... the stock has been seriously desired at this point.
Something tells me (and I have no evidence as I haven't talked to management in a year) that we will see the 25 Gbps prototype soon after the management change. IF/WHEN we do, there should be nothing holding this company back from a roaring future. They have told us plainly that this won't be the same type of hurdle they face in getting to the 10 Gbps. There are also so many other things, partnership potential, JV's, new markets they have said they could target, etc. that I would expect to hear something very soon. I think even the most real and stoic stockholders expect some of this in the very near future.
The company has been so quiet without a news event in 4 months, it would lead most anyone to conclude that the company is saving some ammunition for new management to get an early win with the change on Monday. Do I expect something right then, no probably not... but I bet we hear something pretty soon, especially with the Annual Shareholder Meeting in just 3 + weeks.
