Prototype is geared toward "wireless charging" testing. It assumes no interference from the casing (hence the hole). Real product would cover up the hole and yet will achieve the same "transparency" via the case backing.

For now, only glass and BMG can achieve such goal.

This is purely my speculation upon view of EVT.

I see no way the hole can remain in the final product.
