With ASCO's well documented long history of security breaches, I personally would not trust their security to protect my abstract if I was a small biotech company extremely vulnerable to manipulation by large pharma, hedge funds and foreign governments. ABBVIE just had their failure in some trials subject to an ASCO security breach a few days ago, and they had to run out to PR the info after the breach; but, and here is the important part, ABBVIE has other trials that did not fail and could counter balance the hit. Plus ABBVIE is a revenue based company as opposed to smaller biotech that is pre revenue in many cases. A small biotech with good data, bad data or data in need of interpretation is at the mercy of predators. Even a company not presenting at ASCO could be hurt by ASCO security breaches.
